Every October, Fire Prevention Month reminds us of the importance of reducing fire risks. Gas safety plays a big role in that effort.

A natural gas leak can become a fire hazard if left undetected. That’s why it’s so important to know the signs of a leak and to evacuate immediately if you suspect one. Just as importantly, installing and maintaining natural gas alarms provides early warning before a small problem escalates.

This month, take time to test all your alarms; smoke, carbon monoxide, and natural gas. Make sure everyone in your household knows what each one sounds like and what to do when it goes off.
